Name a secret ingredient or two for effective mentoring.

Commitment; Listen.

Always follow through. You will not be trusted if you don’t.

Which leadership skills were the most difficult for you to develop?

I am a work in progress but at this point, I’d say time management/ability to delegate.

How do you teach negotiating skills?

These skills are acquired through experience but the foundations for me are confidence in position, respect for your adversary and flexibility.

Be excited about it yourself—excitement is infectious.

Do you have any quick tips for re-energizing an overworked team?

Coordinate an unexpected event/outing.
