Shutts CIO Peter Abreu was a finalist in the South Florida Business Journal’s 2015 Technology Awards program. The awards recognize chief information officers who lead their organization in “delivering business value and innovative use of IT.”
Peter has over 30 years of experience in law firm technology, spending his time in law firms and several years as a consultant. According to this South Florida Business Journal article, Abreu taught himself how to interface with a computer in the early 1980s. He attributes his success to two things: support from the executive, budget, and technology committees of the firm and his “trusted and loyal” IT team. Abreu also acknowledged a work environment that “promotes collaboration and success.”
“If a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, a CIO is only as good as the IT team that supports him,” said Abreu.
