Shutts & Bowen LLP Orlando Co-Managing Partner, Daniel O’Keefe, was present for the University of Florida’s 2020 ranking announcement, featuring speaker Governor Ron DeSantis. Dan, who serves on the University of Florida’s Board of Trustees, was photographed with fellow board members as Governor DeSantis praised the university’s climb on the U.S. News & World Report Top Public Schools.
Appearing in the top-10 rankings at No. 7, the University of Florida has climbed the rankings for the third consecutive year and remains the most highly ranked university in the state. Additionally, UF’s undergraduate business programs saw a significant rise from No. 30 last year to No. 22 in 2019, while undergraduate engineering programs came in at No. 34.

Daniel T. O’Keefe is Co-Managing Partner of the Orlando office of Shutts & Bowen LLP and former Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. Daniel handles real estate and land use issues, from negotiating loans and government approvals to dealing with regulatory agencies and obtaining development approvals for builders and developers. Daniel was also appointed by Governor Rick Scott to the South Florida Water Management District in 2011 and was elected chairman in 2013-2018. In 2018, Daniel was appointed to the University of Florida’s Board of Trustees.
