Fort Lauderdale associate and FIU Law alumna Deedee Bitran was a panelist at FIU College of Law for an Employment and Labor Law Lunch & Learn hosted by FIU Law’s Career Planning and Placement Office. The panel was moderated by Professor Kerri Stone and included Elizabeth Johnson of Fowler White, Mendy Halberstam of Jackson Lewis, and Christina Cora of the National Labor Relations Board as co-panelists.

The diverse panel offered guidance to the students by sharing their experiences and discussing their favorite parts of their jobs. They provided insight on cutting edge employment and labor law issues such as the effect of medical marijuana on employment law policies, the change in government labor law policies, the effect of the “me-too” movement, and whether sexual orientation constitutes a protected class under employment laws.
