Shutts & Bowen is pleased to announce that Florentino Gonzalez has been appointed Co-Chairman of the Firm’s statewide Real Estate Practice Group. “Shutts & Bowen has one of the best real estate departments in Florida and it is an honor to have been appointed to this position,” says Mr. Gonzalez, a partner in the Firm’s Miami office. Since joining the Firm in 1998, Shutts & Bowen’s Miami office has grown to nearly 100 attorneys, with the Firm having approximately 250 attorneys in most of Florida’s major cities.
Mr. Gonzalez has a multi-faceted commercial real estate practice. As lead counsel, he has overseen large and complex multi-state real estate transactions involving interaction with local, corporate and institutional counsel throughout the country and coordination of related opinions, corporate and title requirements. In connection with such transactions, he has negotiated and drafted relevant agreements, worked with tax experts to devise the appropriate structure for taking title, reviewed title and survey and worked with title underwriters on title insurance matters. Mr. Gonzalez has also represented developers on numerous acquisitions, construction loans, securitized loans and leasing matters.
Mr. Gonzalez received his Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law and his Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Miami.
