Shutts & Bowen is pleased to announce that James J. Henson has joined its Orlando office and Elizabeth M. Jones has joined its West Palm Beach office.
Mr. Henson is a member of the Labor and Employment Practice Group. He regularly represents employers in a wide range of issues before state and federal trial courts as well as administrative agencies such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He provides counsel and advice to his clients so that they can comply with the myriad of laws which regulate the employment process. In addition to assisting businesses with labor and employment disputes, Mr. Henson also represents lending institutions in matters related to collection, residential and commercial foreclosures, and work-out agreements. He has argued before county and circuit courts throughout Florida, in the U.S. District Courts for the Middle District of Florida and represented his clients before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
Ms. Jones is a member of the Real Estate Practice Group. She focuses her practice on representing purchasers, sellers, developers, investors, and lenders in the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of real estate, as well as representing landlords and tenants in the negotiation of commercial leases. Ms. Jones’ experience also includes a variety of business-related matters including corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, commercial lending, insurance regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions. She is admitted to practice in both Florida and the District of Columbia.
