Shutts & Bowen Sponsors Scholars Breakfast for HANDY

Shutts & Bowen is proud to be sponsoring the 9th Annual Scholars Breakfast to benefit HANDY, Helping Abused Neglected Disadvantaged Youth. Our Fort Lauderdale office has been a very active supporter of this worthy cause for over seven years. Suzanne Driscoll, a partner with the firm, serves on the Board of Directors for HANDY, is the Chair of the Scholars Committee, and was instrumental in planning the Scholars Breakfast.  The Scholars Breakfast is on May 21, 2014.

Suzanne Driscoll is an attorney in the Eminent Domain Inverse Condemnation Practice Group.  Having served as a senior attorney with both the Florida Department of Transportation and the Attorney General’s Office, she has valuable experience in eminent domain law specifically and trial law in general. A litigator with more than 50 jury trials on record, Ms. Driscoll is based in the Fort Lauderdale office.

HANDY’s mission is to embrace, educate, and empower vulnerable youth to become engaged, productive adults. Founded in 1985, HANDY has met the needs of more than 45,000 Broward County children and youth in foster and relative/non-relative care under protective supervision. HANDY annually serves more than 1,300 at-risk children and youth, between the ages of birth to 23 years. HANDY's programs focus on education, youth development, and economic self-sufficiency.  Learn more here.
