
Alyssa Cory, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tampa office, was recently appointed to serve as Vice Chair of The Florida Bar’s Appellate Court Rules Committee by the incoming president of the Florida Bar Michael Fox Orr, effective July 1, 2026.
The Appellate Court Rules Committee was established to consider rule proposals and amendments to the Florida Rules of Appellate Procedure. The Appellate Court Rules Committee is composed of attorneys and judges with extensive experience and training in appellate practice. Alyssa has been serving on the Appellate Court Rules Committee since 2022 and currently serves as Chair of the General Practice Subcommittee.

Alyssa L. Cory is a Partner in the Tampa office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the Appellate Practice Group. Board certified in Appellate Practice, she regularly briefs and argues high-profile appeals in all six of Florida’s appellate courts, as well as in the Florida Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Her practice covers appellate advocacy in the areas of complex commercial and business disputes, constitutional issues, election-related litigation, and administrative law. She also assists clients through civil litigation support in a variety of federal and state cases with trial preservation, and developing and framing key legal arguments.
