Alyssa Cory, a partner in Shutts & Bowen LLP’s Tampa office, recently spoke at Stetson University College of Law on a panel during the Stetson Law Review’s Spring Scholarship Luncheon on April 14, 2026.
During the event, Alyssa and her co-panelists discussed an article written by a Stetson University College of Law student regarding the 2025 Trump v. CASA decision as it relates to universal injunctions. Alyssa addressed how advocates should reconsider their approach to injunctive style relief by utilizing class action certification and identified which arguments continue to be effective with courts following the decision. She also shared insights, from an appellate perspective, on how litigators should navigate a landscape where relief may differ geographically. Alyssa discussed how originalist arguments shaped the court’s reasoning, and the limited historical support for universal injunctions.
