Rachel LaMontagne, a partner in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen, will be presenting during the 6th Annual Medicare Secondary Payer Master Class taking place virtually February 9-10, 2021.
Presenters from across the country will discuss critical topics and developments relating to conditional payments, Medicare set-asides, mandatory reporting, and vital legislative updates. This immersive virtual event dives deep into the intricacies of CMS Notice of Proposed Rule Making and actionable steps for avoiding civil money penalties.
Rachel’s presentation, titled “Valuable Techniques when Dealing with Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans,” will inform attendees on how to calculate new approaches to identify if a claimant has transitioned from traditional Medicare to Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Plan; connect with Medicare Advantage Plan or Prescription Drug Plan to determine if any payments have been made related to the claim; analyze payment log of items paid to make a determination if payments made are related and if not, to dispute errors; and avoid being sued for double damages by ensuring disputes with Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Plan are accurate and timely.
