On November 13, Shutts & Bowen’s Fort Lauderdale office hosted the T.J. Reddick Bar Association’s November General Body Meeting & Panel Event. The event, titled “Bridging the Gap: A Legacy of Wisdom, a Future of Impact,” opened with a networking mixer and continued with a panel discussion featuring Fort Lauderdale Office Managing Partner Sidney Calloway. The event proved to be an impactful evening focused on connection, mentorship, and strengthening the legal community.
The T.J. Reddick Bar Association is dedicated to promoting the professional excellence of Black lawyers in Broward County, increasing the enrollment of minority students in college and law school, and promoting the general welfare of all citizens in Broward County. The Association not only provides legal-advice clinics, its members also mentor minority law students attending local law schools. The Association also sponsors an annual toy drive, annually celebrates thanksgiving with the children of local child care centers, sponsors citizenship and voter registration drives, conducts educational seminars for various community organizations and provides academic scholarships to students at local law schools.
