A Florida federal judge recently awarded the national moving company NorthStar Moving $13 million personally against the individual behind the willful infringement of King David Van Lines doing business as Northstar Movers.

U.S. District Judge William P. Dimitrouleas stated Ohad Guzi was the moving, conscious force responsible for the trademark infringement and unfair competition.   As a result, Mr. Guzi was held liable for the entire profits of the infringing enterprise, which the court trebled.  Also, Guzi violated the Anti-cybersquatting Consumer Protect Act, where he personally registered the domain name www.northstarmovers.com and allowed the King David Van Lines to use in connection with its website and online marketing.

Additionally, the judge granted a permanent injunction barring Guzi from further cybersquatting, trademark infringement or unfair competition.

NorthStar Moving is represented by West Palm Beach partner Joseph W. Bain and attorney Jodi-Ann Tillman along with Deborah A. Gubernick and Christopher D. Bright of Snell & Wilmer LLP.
