Shutts & Bowen LLP is pleased to announce that 21 attorneys have been recognized as Florida’s Legal Elite 2019 by Florida Trend, an award-winning business publication offering regionally-based stories and reporting with statewide impact. For more than 15 years, Florida Trend has published the Florida Legal Elite roster, which is widely regarded as one of the preeminent referral guides to the legal profession and considers honorees to be some of the top attorneys in the state.
Legal Elite lawyers are nominated by a jury of their peers who hold them in the highest regard. Nominees are then vetted by a panel of previous Legal Elite winners, representing different practice areas in cities across the state, which reviews the selection process and the list of finalists. The resulting list of 1,126 lawyers represents less than 1.3% of active Florida Bar members who practice in the state. Voters are also asked to name three “Up and Coming” attorneys, which led to the final list of 131 selected practitioners, who are under the age of 40 and have exhibited leadership in their community. The 2019 roster features two "Up and Coming" Shutts attorneys (Ella Shenhav and Lauren Millcarek) and six attorneys who are listed for the first time (Curtis Wolfe, William Grant, Eric Reed, Jordan Lee, Adam Woodruff and Kristina Candido).
