Patricia A. Leonard is a partner in the West Palm Beach office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the Business Litigation Practice Group and Chair of the firm's Focus on Women Committee.

Patti has a diverse business and commercial litigation practice, representing businesses in their contractual and other disputes, employment discrimination defense, partnership and corporate disputes, pharmaceutical and nutraceutical litigation matters, securities litigation, and real estate litigation. Patti has also litigated trademark, unfair competition, theft of trade secrets, Lanham Act, defamation, and copyright infringement cases. She practices in state and federal courts, as well as in FINRA arbitration. She also counsels clients in employment law matters.

A Martindale-Hubbell AV® Preeminent™ rated attorney, Patti has been named among the Best Lawyers in America® in commercial litigation and in banking and finance litigation, and has been named as one of the “Top 50 Women Lawyers in Florida” by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine. In 2012, she received the “Leaders in the Law” award from the Florida Association for Women Lawyers for her legal and volunteer service.

Patti has held numerous leadership positions in Palm Beach County. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Armory Art Center. She previously served on the executive cabinet of the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign. She also served as a commissioner of the Fourth District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission, served on The Florida Bar's Client Security Fund, and has chaired a Fifteenth Judicial Circuit Grievance Committee. She’s also active in the University of Virginia Alumni Club of the Palm Beaches' executive committee, having previously served as the Club's president.

Patti is a published author and a frequent speaker on various legal issues.

While in law school, Patti was a member of the moot court board and served as Senior Articles Editor for the University of Miami Law Review. Prior to joining Shutts, Patti practiced business and commercial litigation for a large, international law firm.
