Janeil A. Morgan is an Associate in the Fort Lauderdale office of Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she is a member of the Government Law Practice Group.

Ms. Morgan dedicates a significant aspect of her practice to city, county, and local government law. She has experience in drafting and preparing resolutions and ordinances, reviewing and analyzing municipal charter and land development regulations, and drafting amendments to municipal charter and land development codes. Ms. Morgan currently represents a local municipality Charter Review Advisory Board. Her practice also consists of assisting with internal investigations and litigation related to prosecuting municipal code enforcement liens.

Ms. Morgan’s practice further includes assistance with the representation of clients in government bid protests and eminent domain matters.

During law school, Janeil interned for the Office of the Federal Public Defender for the Middle District of Florida and, the Office of the State Attorney for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. Additionally, she was a Racial Justice Program Legal Intern for the American Civil Liberties Union national headquarters in New York and a Certified Legal Intern for the Public Defender’s Office for the Eighth Judicial Circuit.
