Shutts & Bowen Announces New Practice Group LeadersShutts & Bowen is pleased to announce the firm’s newest Practice Group Leaders (PGLs), who manage and oversee the firm’s formal practice groups. Michelle G. Hendler, Peter A. Lagonowicz and William G. McCullough have been named to leadership roles within their practices.

“Shutts & Bowen is fortunate to have so many extraordinary leaders among our ranks during these challenging times,” said Jack McElroy, who was recently appointed the Firmwide Managing Partner. “In choosing attorneys to oversee our practice groups, we strive to select those who can ensure success of our strategic vision while giving each and every capable individual a chance to lead and mentor others.”

Michelle Hendler, a partner in the Miami office, has been named Co-Chair of the Creditors’ Rights & Bankruptcy Practice Group. Michelle focuses her practice on real estate and creditor's rights matters. She represents lenders, real estate investors, and special servicers in commercial foreclosures, loan enforcement actions, guaranty claims, and note sales, and she represents court-appointed receivers. Michelle will lead the group alongside Lee D. Mackson.

Peter Lagonowicz, a partner in the Miami office, has been named Co-Chair of the firm’s Tax & International Law Practice Group. Peter, who also Chairs the firm’s Latin America Practice Group, regularly represents high net worth private clients, family offices, funds and other business entities with assets and investments in and outside the United States. He has advised both U.S. and international clients on a wide variety of domestic and cross-border commercial transactions. Peter will lead the group alongside Ricardo J. Souto.

William McCullough, a partner in the Miami office, has been named Co-Chair of the Corporate Practice Group. William focuses his practice on the structuring of complex investment transactions and business organizations, private fund formation, and transactional and regulatory matters involving domestic and international financial institutions. William will work alongside J. Gregory Humphries as Co-Chair.
