Shutts & Bowen’s Attorney Development Committee hosted its inaugural Firmwide Associate Seminar on Thursday, June 9. The seminar, broadcasted via Zoom to each of the firm’s offices, was held with the support of firm management.
The Attorney Development Committee, led by Miami partner Martha Rabbitt and Tampa partner Eric Page, arranged for partners to participate in panels covering topics including expectations of associates; successful business development; the economics of running a law firm; the value of professional and community involvement; and tips on setting oneself apart from one’s peers. The associates were joined by current Firmwide Managing Partner Jack McElroy, who shared inspiring welcome remarks with the group. Panelists included Roland Gallor, Jennifer Slone Tobin, Timothy Woodward, Patricia Leonard, Bianca Duffield, Timothy Gillis, Jordan Lee, Francis Rodriguez, Kristina Candido, Erik Matheney, Margaret “Peggy” Rolando and Micky Grindstaff.
More than 70 associates attended the seminar. In addition to the seminar, the Attorney Development Committee oversees Shutts’ firmwide Associate Mentoring Program, and coordinates various training and informational events for attorneys throughout the year. Its goal is to provide insight and mentorship to associates and partners to guarantee their personal and professional success within the firm.
