Shutts & Bowen Ranked Among Most Diverse Firms by Law360

Shutts & Bowen is pleased to announce its inclusion in Law360’s 2020 Diversity Snapshot, a report compiled by demographic data submitted by more than 300 firms on their overall attorney headcount as of December 31, 2019. In its tiered group of 251-600 attorneys, Shutts ranked No. 4 for diverse attorneys.

The report compares firms of similar size on two measures: the percentage of attorneys of color at the firm and the percentage of equity partners of color. Shutts measured 21.7% and 18.4% respectively in those categories.

The firms ranked at the top on those two measures were also measured on the diversity of the firm’s executive committee and the percentage of recently promoted partners who are attorneys of color. In those measures, Shutts scored 20% and 23.5% respectively.

In order to determine a firm's total score, Law360 ranked law firms on their proportion of minority attorneys and their proportion of minority equity partners. Firms were awarded a proportion of the 50 points available in each category based on their rank in that category. Both measures are weighted equally, with possible scores ranging from 0-100. Shutts’ overall score was 92.25.
