In a recent article published by the Daily Business Review, the publication reported that Florida’s four Am Law 200 Firms found varying success in 2020, with only Shutts & Bowen LLP climbing higher in the rankings.
According to the article, the driving force behind performance for each of the four firms was diversification and a balance of practices. Bowman Brown, Chairman of the firm’s Executive Committee, noted in a March interview with the DBR that while the hospitality practice took a hit at the onset of the pandemic, there was a spiked demand for litigation services among the practice groups. As Shutts recorded its 22nd consecutive year of revenue growth, the firm climbed two spots on the Am Law 200 list, outpacing the aggregate average 1.1% for top-line revenue growth among the Second Hundred.
Commenting on the firm’s growth and latest Am Law ranking, Bowman said, “Shutts & Bowen has continued to grow, experiencing a solid record of revenue and profit, despite the challenges inherent to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the firm’s rise on the Am Law 200 list reflects that success.”
